THE EFFECT OF FARTLEK TRAINING ON SOME PHYSICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL VARIABLES OF FUTSAL PLAYERS

The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of the fartlek training on some physical (speed endurance and transitional speed) and physiological variables (heart rate after effort and respiratory rate after effort) of futsal players. To achieve this purpose 10 female futsal players were selected as sample from 15 players which aged between 16 to 27 years, who are playing for Chwarqurna Sports Club in Sulaymaniya/KRI. The researcher used the experimental approach by designing one group with pre-test and post-tests, due to its suitability to the nature of the research. The sample group practiced the Fartlek Program for 9 weeks, 2 units per week. After a warm-up underwent fartlek exercises such as running with variation speeds, walking, jogging, and running between cones and finishing each session with cool-down exercises. The research hypothesis was the statistically significant differences between the post-test and the pre-test of the research sample after applying the training curriculum for fartlek exercises, in some physiological and physical variables. The research samples had been achieved a remarkable improvement in the physiological variables (heart rate after effort and respiratory rate after effort) and the physical variables (speed endurance and transitional speed) as a result of regularity in the Fartlek program, where the results showed statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test in favor of the post-test.
